One Month into the Rest of My Life
It is official! It has been 30 days since I got on the airplane and left China for the first time in three years. “How are you feeling?” This is a question I keep getting asked every time I talk to someone about being back in America. Truth? I’m still not sure yet. I can say that I am happy. There are already things I miss about China, but being here with family fills me with joy and overwhelmed with happiness.
I just wanted to write a short (I think) post of some highlights from the last month and a few updates.
Surrounded by Love
I’ve spent a lot of time with family and cats. For those who have been wondering, the cats are doing pretty well. My future mother-in-law bought them a cat tree, which, as you can see, they are enjoying very much! We were able to see all of the grandparents, parents, and even some cousins and aunts, and uncles. All of that to say, it has been a month surrounded by love and loved ones.
My Second Love
One of the many things I was looking forward to with coming back was food! I have been able to cook many delicious foods, try some restaurants I haven’t eaten at in a while, and generally enjoy my second love; food! I am also starting to figure out couponing and grocery shopping.
We’ve been doing lots of interesting things. We went to see Family Feud for Grandma Cutter’s birthday. I introduced Jay to healthy probiotic juice shots. I’ve been applying for jobs while working on my programming skills. Other than that, I’m just continuing to try to get settled. All is well.
- Finding a job
- Continuing to get settled
- Continued good health
- Figuring out our next steps
Thanks for taking the time to read my updates. I’ll try my best to keep posting updates! Hope you are happy and doing well!
